Tria Age-Defying Laser - After My 12 Weeks Of Treatment

As some of you may have previously read, in February, I was chosen by Tria Beauty to be a part of their ambassador program for their new Age-Defying Laser.  This means that they did give me the Tria Age-Defying Laser to review and keep, but all opinions that I express on her are my own and I have not been given any financial compensation from them.  I completed the full 12 weeks of treatment with the Age-Defying Laser and wanted to give everyone an update.

To refresh everyone, Tria recommends treating 5 days a week with a 2 day break each week for 12 weeks.  I started on treatment level 1 for 1 week which helped my skin get used to the laser (treatment time is 2 minutes on this level - 30 seconds in each zone), then treatment level 2 for 2 weeks (treatment time is 4 minutes - 1 minute in each zone), and then treatment level 3 for 9 weeks (treatment time is 10 minutes - 2 1/2 minutes per zone).  This worked really well for gradually getting my face/skin used to the treatments and to building it into  my daily routine.  On treatment level 3, 10 minutes can sound like a long time, but by that point I was used to it and excited to use it each day.  I was already seeing results by that point and so it was a great motivator.

Tria recommends cleansing your skin with their Priming Cleanser right before each treatment to remove any impurities that can block the laser's light, and to also use their Finishing Serum to help sooth, hydrate, and brighten your skin at the end of each treatment.  It is also recommended that you apply a facial sunscreen every morning during treatment.  Because I wanted to see the best results possible, I followed all of the recommendations.  I mentioned in a previous post that I have very fair and sensitive skin.  I as really happy to find that the Priming Cleanser worked very well on my skin and I did not notice any sensitvity or reaction to it.  I wanted to make sure my skin was properly cleansed because it makes sense that anything on your skin could block your pores and also affect the light of the laser from being as effective.  I would also thing that then the laser would pick up more dirt from your skin.  It is important that if you feel less sensation from the laser during the treatment that you might want to clean the laser off.  I simply wiped mine off with a soft cloth every week or two.  While I felt a mild tingling sensation during treatments in each zone, it was not uncomfortable or painful in any way.  I would develop some mild redness on my face that within a couple of hours or by the next morning, was gone completely.  I loved how the Finishing Serum felt so silky and smooth on my skin.  I recently read that you can keep the Finishing Serum in the fridge, so that when you apply it after a treatment, the coolness can also help soothe your skin.  I may try this when I start my next 12 weeks of treatments.

I was amazed that within a couple of weeks into my treatment that I could already start to see results. In the side by side above, the picture on the left is right before I started using the Age-Defying Laser, and the picture on the right is 4 weeks after finishing the 12 weeks.  The result that surprised me the most, was the fading of my scar (that I also mentioned in a previous post) that I have had for 3 years.  I also noticed my skin tone and texture improve, an age spot on the side of my face faded, the wrinkles on my forehead have diminished, and my smile lines on the sides of my mouth have also faded.  I have had a few people comment to me how great my skin looks.

Tria recommends taking at least a 4 week break before starting another 12 week cycle.  I was torn as to whether to start another treatment cycle or wait until we were through the summer.  However, I was excited to start again (after 5 weeks) and so I started a new treatment cycle last night.  I have found that using the Age-Defying Laser became a part of my evening routine within a couple of weeks and that I look forward to the treatments.  Plus, being able to see the results so soon after beginning treatments is a great motivatorl.  I feel that now I can be proactive in decreasing the signs of aging in my face!

I do not believe in buying every product on the market that says that it can improve aging.  Let's face it, you can spend a ton of money!  I want to get the most bang for my buck.  I love that once you purchase this device it is yours.  In-office fractonal non-ablative laser treatments, which is the same technology that the Age-Defying Laser uses, can easily run $1000 per session and you'll need 2-3 session.  I do not have to take time out of my busy schedule to go to appointments, and quite frankly, I could not afford to do these.  I have also heard of the chemical peels that are very pricy, uncomfortable (to put it nicely), and leave your face looking fried while you recuperate.  I would not want to go through that level of discomfort and then have down time where I didn't want to show face.  With the Age-Defying Laser, I was able to do my treatment every evening and leave the house in the morning without any redness or signs of treatment that would leave people asking me questions.  I also like that there has been a study done with evidence-based results, and that it is FDA cleared.  This gives me the peace of mind that it is safe and that the majority of users had measurable results.  The results from the study show that 92% of users were satisfied with the treatment and results!

I would definitely recommend the Age-Defying Laser as well as following all of the instructions and tips that Tria provides.  Right now Tria has a promotion going on that you can take advantage of if you decide you want to purchase one where you get a 2 week skincare starter kit plus Finishing Eye Treatment by using the promo code "SKINCARE".

The Proof Is In The Picture - Tria Age-Defying Laser

I wasn't going to post on Tria's Age-Defying Laser  for a few more weeks, but when I saw this picture I just had to!  In the side by side picture above, the one on the left is right before I started treatment and the one on the right was taken last Tuesday morning before I started getting ready for my day.  I think that when you look at the pictures side by side, that the results I have been telling people that I think I am seeing show very clearly here.  The first thing that I want to point out is the scar on my face.  If you look at the picture on the right, you will see that I have a scar right below/up to my nose on the right side of the picture.  This is a scar that I got when I was 5 years old.  That was 35 years ago!  When I was a little girl I was pretty self conscious about it and always though that when I got older, that I would seek out some type of treatment to get rid of it.  However, as I got older I grew used to it and stopped noticing it so I stopped worrying about getting rid of it.  This scar fading or diminishing with using the Age-Defying Laser was not something I expected as I started treatment as this is not something the laser has been tested for, which is that it is "indicated for wrinkles around the eyes and smoother skin in the treated areas".  A couple weeks into treatment I thought I was starting to see it changing, but I thought that maybe it was just me.  When I put these 2 pictures side by side yesterday, I was amazed to see the results very clearly.  To me it is obvious how much the scar has faded.  I cannot say for sure, but I am thinking that the treatments must be helping rebuild/renew the collagen around and nder the area of my scar.  If you go back to looking at the side by side picture, I think you can also see how my skin tone has increased which has made my skin feel much smoother and looks more radiant.  Also, I can tell that my wrinkles on my forehead are fading and around my mouth you can see my laugh lines decreasing as well.

I have just finished my second week on level 3 treatment.  That means that 5 nights a week I am treating each of the 4 zones on my face for 2 1/2 minutes which makes my total treatment time 10 minutes.  My face has become accustomed to the treatments and I barely notice any prickling or discomfort during and after the treatment.  The redness I am seeing after a treatment is minimal.  I continue to use the Finishing Serum right after my treatment and sunscreen before my makeup in the morning.  I am following the directions and taking a 2 day break between each 5 day treatment.  I will continue this for another 7 weeks in order to complete the full 12 weeks of treatment that is recommended.

I even packed it on our weekend spring break trip and took it with me to the hotel so I could stay on schedule.  It was easy to take along and use.  It really has become a part of my evening routine and I am very excited with the results I am seeing!

Tria Age-Defying Laser - End Of Level 2 Treatment

Tria Age Defying Laser

Tria Age-Defying Laser - Being Chosen For Their Ambassador Program

At the beginning of February, I filled out an application that Tria  posted on Facebook to be part of their Ambassador program for their new Age-Defying Laser .  You can imagine my excitement when I received an e-mail on February 7th that I had been chosen as 1 of 5 out of over 100 applicants to be part of their Ambassador program.  Being chosen meant that Tria was going to send me their Age-Defying Laser, along with their Priming Cleanser and Finishing Serum.  What an amazing opportunity!  In doing so, they asked that I follow the recommended treatment protocol over 12 weeks, take pictures before starting and then each week in the same lighting and position not smiling (they say not smiling shows your wrinkles and the results over time better), and share my experience/results with everyone.

So what is the Tria Age-Defying Laser?  It is a handheld anti-aging laser for personal use at home that is FDA approved.  I point out that it is FDA approved because that is very important to me when it comes to safety and it means a lot to me that a company believes in their products to go through obtaining this approval.  The at home part is significant, because many people spend thousands of dollars seeking in-office professional treatment.  I am a frugal person and so the option of being able to do this in the comfort of my home at a fraction of the cost is a great opportunity.  The Age-Defying Laser is supposed to work to promote a natural collagen renewal to help diminish fine lines and wrinkles and achieve a more radiant, smooth complexion.  So far, reports are showing that up to 83% of users say that they have found the Age-Defying laser to be as effective as professional laser treatments.  Plus, once you own it, it is yours to be able to repeat 12 week cycles of treatment as you feel is necessary (they do recommend though that you take a 1 month break between 12 week cycles).

I started my week one of treatment on the training level 1.  It is recommended that you do your treatments in the evening so that if you have any redness from the treatments that can diminsh overnight and allows the skin renewal to begin overnight.  I used the priming cleanser to clean my face as they say this helps to remove makeup, sunscreen and any other impurities that may be clogging your pores and make the treatments less effective.  I would like to point out that I have very sensitive skin and find that there is very few products on my face that don’t cause irritation so I was a little nervous.  I was happy to find that the cleaser was very mild, but effective and that I have not experienced any irritation with it.  I then turned the laser onto level 1 and treated each “zone” of my face for the time I was supposed to (30 seconds to start out).  There are specific directions that show you each zone and the laser makes it really easy because it times each zone and beeps to let you know to move to the next zone.  When the last zone is complete the laser shuts off.  Then you apply the Finishing Serum to help soothe and hydrate your skin. During the treatment I felt little warm pricks or tingling that were not painful, just slightly uncomfortable.  When I applied the finishing serum I was in love immediately!  It is not greasy at all, but feels more silky.  My skin felt so soft and wonderful.  That first week I noticed that any redness and tingling I experienced was gone within an hour or two of treatment.

The first week is meant to help you get into a routine and get used to using the laser.  You treat for 5 days and then take a break for 2 days.  I admit that it was hard to wait the 2 days to start the next level!  The main thing that I noticed the first week was my skin feeling softer and smoother.  I would also like to mention that they recommend using sunscreen in the mornings to help protect the benefits, maintain results, and help prevent new damage.  This was always part of my routine in the mornings when I put my makeup on

The second and third weeks I moved up to Level 2 treatment again treating for 5 days and then taking a break for 2 days.  On level 2, each zone is 60 seconds for a total treatment time of 4 minutes.  On level 2, I found the pricks or tingling to be just a little stronger, but again not painful.  I noticed a little more redness to my face after treatment, but again it was gone within a few hours.  What I started to notice during these 2 weeks is that the creases, or laugh lines around my mouth are less noticeable, the creases in the center of my forehead are lessening and looking more shallow and an age spot just below my left eye looks like it is fading.  My skin feels great (and I think looks great).  I am excited for the next 8 weeks on level 3 which I am thinking the results are just going to get even better!
I will post my pictures and links to the youtube videos I have done and hope you will follow me.  I would like to point out that Tria gave me the laser and product to use, but are not paying me anything and simply asking me to give feedback on my experience.  I am not personally selling these products, but there is link on the side of my blog that you can use if you are interested in purchasing.

I would like to point out that I am not good at taking selfies and that to me these pictures really don't show the results the way I am seeing them.
